Lloyd District

About Lloyd District

Named for California rancher, oilman, and real estate developer, Ralph Lloyd, who developed the area, the Lloyd District sits across the Willamette River from Portland’s Old Town/Chinatown, and is a hub of activity.
Home to the Rose Quarter (housing the Rose Garden Arena and Memorial Coliseum), Lloyd Center Mall and the Oregon Convention Center, the Lloyd District has something for everyone. Locals hitting the mall, tourists staying at one of Lloyd’s many hotels, families attending a Trail Blazers basketball game and professionals attending conferences all mingle, lending themselves to the neighborhood’s lively atmosphere.

With a Walk Score of 81, plentiful public transportation (in the form of TriMet buses, MAX trains and trolley cars) with frequent service and easy access to three different freeways, getting in and out of the Lloyd District is a breeze.

Not to be missed are the area’s home-grown gems like family owned and operated, Elmer’s Flag & Banner, Kites Too!, Portland’s Pixie Project animal shelter and Hiroshi’s Anzen Market, providing Asian specialty foods and imports. See a movie, do some shopping, or take in a concert in this neighborhood filled with tasty food options like Frank’s Noodle House, J’s Café, Yuki Japanese Restaurant and Newport Seafood Grill.
