About Rock Creek
A small neighborhood wedged between the edge of Portland’s Urban Growth Boundary and Highway 26 (centered at 185th and West Union) the unincorporated Rock Creek area sits amid farms, wetlands and a golf course. Most homes here are lapped cedar siding on colonial, split and ranch style homes, with large-sized lots and contemporary floor plans.
The area includes Portland Community College’s Rock Creek Campus (12 miles west of downtown Portland), which specializes in veterinary, landscape, building construction and biology programs, and uses the natural environs for their outdoor learning labs as well as Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation’s sports complex.
Rock Creek Country Club, one of Portland’s best-kept golf secrets, is here as well. A championship 18-hole, 6700-yard golf course, with expansive practice facilities, putting and chipping greens and driving range, it also features saunas, a Pro Shop and a Clubhouse Grill.
Rock Creek is served not only by its proximity to highway 26 and the nearby Tanasbourne shopping centers (including the chi-chi Streets of Tanasbourne) but by the small shopping center in the neighborhood on West Union and the 30 year old Mad Greek Deli – a neighborhood favorite.
