About North Plains
The 100-year-old community of North Plains (just off Highway 26, 15 miles west of Portland), finally incorporated in 1963, has excellent schools, a relaxed quality of life and community oriented service organizations like the North Plains Events Association, Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Pythias, and Garden Club.
With a tiny population under 2000, residents enjoy proximity to the acclaimed Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, “considered two of the best golf course layouts in the country,” where David Duval won the Nike Tour Championship in 1993 and home to the 1997 and 2003 U.S. Women’s Open.
Nearby Horning’s Hideout offers a chance to commune with nature with affordable fishing, picnics, and concerts. The Annual Warrior Dash sets up the World’s Largest Obstacle Race Series for participants at Horning’s Hideout in September is also home to the nationally famous Faerieworlds Festival.
