Congratulations to the 2019 PMAR Realtor® Good Neighbor Winner . . . Shelly Brown!
Her motto is “Give Where You Live”! This all began back in 2005 when I saw Shelly Brown selling raffle tickets for the Cedar Mill Little League. It was on that day that I approached Shelly and asked her to let me know when she was ready to apply her talents to the industry. Two days later she joined us here at ELEETE Real Estate.
Fast forward 12 years, Shelly has become one of our top producers and has led ELEETE in our drive to make a difference here in our hometown. Shelly has helped inspire our firm to participate in outreach for the Portland Rescue Mission, Abby’s Closet, and created a holiday gift card drive for teens in foster care.
Last week, Shelly received the “Good Neighbor Award” for 2019 by our Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors. Shelly was honored along with the Portland Citizen of the Year, Ron Herndon. This annual event only recognizes three recipients per year and has been in existence since 1928. Prior First Citizen winners include Bill Schonley, Mark O. Hatfield, Gert Boyle, and Harold & Arlene Schnitzer. It was in 2005, that PMAR decided to acknowledge the one Realtor out of our 8,000 members who make a difference in their community, and Shelly has done just that by mentoring in the career center at Sunset High School, coaching “Girls on the Run”, and volunteering at Abby’s Closet – empowering high school women. She is also involved with Bridge Meadows, Habitat for Humanity, and has served on countless other community organizations over the years.
As the recipient of the Good Neighbor Award, PMAR has donated $1,000 to Shelly’s chosen charity — Abby’s Closet.
